Schools Urged to Follow the 2026 Academic Calendar

The Ministry of Education and Sports released the 2026 academic calendar for schools in Uganda, providing guidance on term dates, holidays, and national school activities.

According to the calendar, Term I runs from February 2 to May 1, Term II from May 25 to August 21, and Term III from September 14 to December 4. The calendar helps schools plan teaching, assessment, co-curricular activities, visitation days, examinations, and holiday programmes.

At our school, we use the academic calendar to ensure proper syllabus coverage, timely assessment, and balanced learner participation in academics, sports, debate, science fairs, music, dance, drama, and other co-curricular programmes.

We encourage parents and guardians to take note of school dates and support learners throughout the term. Good planning between the school and home helps students remain focused, prepared, and confident.
