Uganda’s secondary education system continues to shift towards competency-based learning, where learners are assessed not only through final examinations but also through continuous classroom-based work.
For UCE candidates under the Competency Based Curriculum, continuous assessment contributes to the learner’s overall achievement, while project work is also an important requirement. This means that assignments, practical activities, projects, class participation, and regular assessments must be taken seriously throughout the school year.
As a school, we encourage learners to develop consistent study habits instead of waiting for final examinations. Every lesson, project, discussion, and practical activity contributes to building the knowledge, skills, values, and confidence needed for success.
Parents are encouraged to follow up on their children’s classwork, project progress, attendance, and teacher feedback. Together, we can help learners perform well both in school-based assessment and national examinations.
